Clyde Waterfront wins web award

19 September 2007

The website highlighting the £5.6 billion regeneration of the River Clyde has been awarded Standard of Excellence status in a major marketing competition.

The Web Marketing Association accorded www.clydewaterfront.com the accolade in this year’s Web Award competition.

In their comments the judges described the use of colour, design and layout as “intriguing”.  The Clyde Waterfront website scored highly for its design, ease of use and content in the WMA Non-Profit section of the awards which are recognised as the premier showcase for website development in 95 industry categories.

In presenting a detailed database of the regeneration of the Clyde the website features an interactive map allowing users to identify developments within the six key areas of the programme at the click of a mouse.

More than 200 projects are described in minute detail with sections also dedicated to business opportunities, communities, up to date news and an excellent image library.

The site is consistently ranked No 1 by the Google search engine for ‘business relocation in Scotland’ and the number of new visitors to the site rose from 1528 in August 2006 to 5956 in July 2007.

Everyone connected with the project is delighted to receive this prestigious award. The website is a key element of our marketing strategy for one of the most exciting waterfront regeneration programmes currently being undertaken anywhere in the world
